90' +4		There's the final whistle, and Mexico are through as decisive Group A winners. Despite a lackluster showing, Costa Rica are also through as runners-up by just edging El Salvador on goal difference. El Salvador could well advance, but they will be made to wait on the results of the other groups.
90' +3		Saborío lofts a weak shot over the top from the edge of the area as proceedings wind to a close at Soldier Field.
90' +1		Stoppage time now. Three minutes of it.
90'		Into the final minute of normal time, and Mexico still trying to push for a fifth goal. Costa Rica have a lot of thanks to give to Keylor Navas for keeping this match even as close as it was the entire way. His saves kept several more goals out of the net.
88'		Dos Santos tries to slide one back across center, but he mishits the cross and Navas is able to gather easily.
87'		De Nigris plays a one-two with Reyna through the middle, but Navas is again out quickly to stifle the move.

81'		Hernández is down grasping his face and play is stopped. He was tussling with Acosta on the left side and went to ground, but he is up now.
79'		In keeping with the theme of Hernández's evening, he is once again denied from close range by Navas. The striker latches onto a ball over the top, but his shot is smothered away yet again.
78'		As it stands now, Costa Rica will advance as Group A runners-up. Mexico would need to score two more without reply to make things interesting.
76'		Reyna lofts a cross over the six-yard box, but it's just a bit too far for Héctor Moreno to get a head to at the far post.
74'		The free kick by Borges gets stuffed in the wall, and once it emerges Saborío can only scuff a shot well wide.
73'		Another thrilling run by Ruiz earns a free kick in the edge of the area, right in the center of the pitch. He split the defenders and forced the foul from Torres. Costa Rica with a chance to add another.

69'		Goal Costa Rica! That could well be the goal that turns Costa Rica's fortunes around. Counterattack by Bryan Ruiz, who lays it off to the sub Ureña on the right side of the area. Ureña then slots a perfect shot inside the far post beyond the reach of Talavera.
68'		Corner to Mexico as a looping ball finds an increasingly-dangerous dos Santos. Díaz came through to clear it behind.
67'		Costa Rica currently hanging on to second place in the group by the thinnest of threads. But it has been a better effort in the second half for Ricardo Lavolpe's side.
65'		Dos Santos is denied yet again, and this time Navas makes the save. This left-footed drive actually wrong-foots the keeper, but just gets his trailing hand to the shot.
62'		Off the crossbar, and Costa Rica survive yet again. It was a tight angle for dos Santos' left-footed drive, but only the underside of the bar kept it from being Mexico's fifth.

57'		Salcido races up the left flank and attempts a cross to center, but the ball floats comfortably into the hands of Navas. Meanwhile, play has been stopped as a flare is removed from the pitch.
55'		Navas manages to deny Hernández yet again as a beautiful pass into the area finds the striker, but Navas is again out to smother the effort.
54'		Bolaños gives it his best effort, but he can't get the ball to come back down. Into the stands, and a goal kick for Mexico.

		We are back under way in Chicago. No changes for Mexico, but Costa Rica have made two substitutions at the break. Marco Ureña and Óscar Duarte have entered the game in place of Allen Guevara and Heiner Mora.
45' +2		Bolaños serves it in but the ball is headed clear, and Moreno whistles for half-time. Phenomenal performance by Mexico, and Costa Rica will need to come back with a completely different gameplan if they are to secure qualification tonight.

44'		Salcido nearly has the fifth from 30 yards out, but his dipping drive is just tipped over the bar by Navas. Costa Rica under immense pressure.
43'		Talavera is called into action as a pass comes through the middle, but the keeper is quick off his line to gather before Ruiz can get on the end of it.
40'		Five minutes before the break, and Costa Rica looking like they will have to wait to see if they qualify for the knockout stages. El Salvador, on the other hand, are enjoying the proceedings as they stand to go in as runners-up if the margin here grows.

38'		Goal Mexico! Barrera gets one of his own as Mexico make it 4-0. Fantastic give-and-go as Barrera lays it off for Salcido, who slides it through for the run of Barrera and the finish is spot on.

36'		Free kick to Mexico inside the right touchline as Guardado is hauled down by Díaz. The service comes into the area, but Costa Rica are able to head clear.

30'		Big save by Navas as Mexico counterattack, the goalkeeper coming off his line to smother a shot from a wide open Hernández. He's denied Hernández twice in this half, and that's the difference between 3-0 and 5-0 at the moment.

19'		Goal Mexico! And a stunner by Andrés Guardado! Israel Castro's cross from the right channel finds an unmarked Guardado just inside the area, and the midfielder hits a sublime left-footed volley into the far corner past a sprawling Navas.
18'		Costa Rica came into this game knowing their place in the last eight was not yet guaranteed, and they'll need to up the tempo in order to get the result they need.

17'		Goal Mexico! It's the captain, Rafa Márquez, opening the scoring as he is unmarked at the center of the area to nod in Barrera's pinpoint corner. No Costa Rican defender near Márquez on that one, and the veteran notches his 12th international goal.
16'		Guardado puts in another tantalizing cross from the left, and a nervous Junior Díaz chests it over the line for a corner.
14'		Hernández had no one in sight of him on that effort, and that would have been his sixth goal already in the tournament.
13'		Álvaro Saborío has a go with an ambitious effort just to the right of the area, but his attempted half-volley goes well wide of the goal. At the other end, a golden chance for Mexico is squandered as Hernández mishits a volley after a fine left-wing cross by Guardado.
11'		Corner for Mexico as Acosta blasts the ball into the stands with dos Santos lurking in the area. Pablo Barrera's outswinger lands in the center of the area, but no one in a black shirt is able to latch on.
9'		Mexico turning on the pressure as Giovani dos Santos tries to pick out the far post from a tight angle, but the ball squirms away.
8'		Andrés Guardado lays it off for Gerardo Torrado 22 yards out, but the midfielder shanks his effort well off the mark. Moments later, Carlos Salcido puts a sliding right boot into one just yards away, but Keylor Navas makes a great parrying save.
7'		Looping ball over the top intended for Bolaños is headed back by Juárez, and Talavera is able to retrieve just before the ball goes over the end line.
5'		First corner goes to Los Ticos as Efraín Juárez touches the ball away from a charging Christian Bolaños. Bolaños' inswinging effort, though, is straight into the hands of Alfredo Talavera.

		Good evening, all, and welcome to the final Group A match of the 2011 CONCACAF Gold Cup as Mexico take on Costa Rica at Soldier Field in Chicago. A point for already-qualified Mexico ensures they go to the quarterfinals as group winners. Costa Rica, meanwhile, need a point to ensure qualification. A loss by no more than four goals (or five if Costa Rica score at least two) would also lock up a berth. Otherwise, Costa Rica wouldl have to wait on the results of other groups
