Monterrey, meanwhile, looked a shell of the side that won the competition last year, and they will have work to do to qualify for the quarterfinals.

78'		First meaningful touch for Suazo since coming on, but the big striker can only lash a half-volley wide of the target.
75'		While Paredes is tended to, the influential Montepeque comes off to be replaced by Hernán Sandoval. And once to his feet, the referee shows him a yellow. Aguilar feels he was being a bit theatrical with that one.

73'		As the teams prepare for the corner, Paredes suddenly goes down in the six-yard box. Looks like he and De Nigris may have gotten together there.

		Good evening to all and welcome to coverage of this CONCACAF Champions League Group D match between home side Comunicaciones of Guatemala and reigning competition champions Monterrey. The two sides are level on three points and trailing leaders Seattle Sounders. Comunicaciones beat Herediano 2-0 on Matchday 2 while Monterrey were stunned at home, 1-0, by Seattle. These two teams will look to keep pace with the MLS side and it should be an intriguing match at Estadio Cementos Progreso.
